Is your roof a candidate for rejuvenation?

Age and appearance alone cannot answer this. The condition of the shingles, the roof system, and product compatibility all matter.

Three possible paths

Consider treatment: the asphalt-shingle roof remains serviceable, and the inspection and compatibility checks support that option.

Repair first: a local defect needs attention before any treatment decision. Repair does not automatically mean the remaining roof qualifies.

Consider replacement: damage or deterioration is too extensive for a maintenance treatment to be a sensible use of money.

What needs a closer look

  • The shingle type and current condition, not just its installation year.
  • Missing, cracked, lifted, or severely worn shingles.
  • Leak history, flashing, and roof penetrations.
  • Signs of decking or ventilation problems.
  • Previous repairs and treatment history.

VRR's rejuvenation service is for asphalt shingles, not metal, slate, tile, or flat membrane roofing. An active leak needs diagnosis; spraying treatment is not a leak repair.

Questions you can answer from the ground

When was the roof installed? Is the wear concentrated on one slope? Has a leak returned after repairs? Do you have the shingle brand and warranty? Bring those answers and existing photos. Do not lift or bend shingles yourself to test them.

Suitability includes manufacturer guidance

Inspecting roof condition is only part of the decision. ARMA recommends checking the shingle manufacturer's position on the specific treatment. Use the warranty checklist before agreeing to an application.
